Recommended to mid altitude areas ( 900-1600 masl)
TMV1 Plant height 180-225cm, Shiny white Flint composite variety Intermediate maturity with 65 days to silking at mid altitude areas, earlier under lowland conditions(50-53 days) Has high yield 4-5ton/ha under optimum conditions Highly resistant close to immunity to maize streak virus diseases Moderate tolerant to leaf rust Very good for green maize ( roasting) Recommended for low and mid altitude areas as well as river basins during off season planted in Kigoma and bukoba regions.
KATUMANI :- suitable for areas with short rainfall. Days to mature 108 days, white in colour. Plant Height 90-160cm
STAHA :- Plant height 170cm, streak tolerant
KITO :- Plant height 60-135cm, suitable in drier areas
LISHE K1 :- 148 days to mature, Plant Height 180-200cm, is a quality maize protein twice then others.
SITUKA 1 /M1 Plant height 180-195cm, has white flint/dent kernels Is early maturing 57-59 days to tasselling under mid -altitude conditions yield 4 to 5 ton/ha where there is low soil fertility or drought is tolerant to drought and low fertility – yield well even under low nitrogen areas has moderate tolerance to maize streak virus diseases, Leaf bright and Grey leaf spot
